To be honest I’m still tired from the last one, if you missed it you
missed out. Seemingly Colm, the little tyke, was so excited he had to
take the day off school on Monday! Thankfully it being the jazz weekend
and all this one may indeed be bigger. We gots two of our favourite
disc jockey types on board for a big Sunday session to round off what
is pretty much the best looking jazz festival for a long time.
Joining us are the ‘Not How, WHEN! chaps, mysteriously named
Timethought and the Yew Tree. Not so mysterious to most folks I would
guess but doesnt really matter who the lads are if yer just into
listening to the good stuff. The ‘Not How, WHEN!’ birthday during the
summer was one of the best nights I’ve had out all year, they gots the
rekkids!
The Yew Tree (Taxus baccata) is a protected species and is particulalry
rare. Easily identified by its lanceolate leaves, its uncanny ability
to consume large amounts of Murphys (as exhibited at Sunday Times
August session) and a vast, tasteful record collection. The largest
stand of this species can be found in Killarney National Park but on
alternatively you can just drop in on the bank holiday Sunday and
observe a Yew Tree in a different environment…….with less
walking……and rain….and more pints for all.yuzzah!
Second only to the H1N1 virus is Sir Timethought of Leamlaras
infectious love for all things music. Has turned me on to many many
records and we’re glad to have him up for the Jazz weekend special. Our
day is the last in a busy wekend for him too, playing some at Pharoah
Sanders, in Plugd and the Cruibin aswell, busy times.Just dont try and
Rob his jacket…
As always we’ll be playing bits and bobs throughout and we’ll be
getting more lively as we approach the end of the day….and Dam Funk.
Gonna be some weekend.
